If it is necessary to extract a tooth or it is missing already, a bridge is an option for filling the
resulting gap. In such a case, the options are similar to those mentioned above, either made of metal
or completely of ceramic. For the base, an exceptionally hard type of ceramic known as zirconia
ceramic is used. The base can then be fitted and is nearly invisible in the mouth. It is generally
recommend to not leave gaps over a long period of time. Otherwise, the opposing tooth in the other
jaw may become elongated as it no longer meets an opposing tooth, or the neighboring teeth may tilt
into the gap.
